The City of Cordova Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce an update on the replacement of the PVC liner at Bob Korn Memorial Swimming Pool.
Preparation work to remove the current liner will commence on Monday, August 5, 2024, following the Paws in the Pool event.
Department staff will drain the pool and clear all fixtures from the pool deck to prepare for Aquatic Renovation Systems, Inc (RenoSys) contractors to begin work the week of August 19, depending on material shipment from Indiana, IN.
The project is expected to last for four weeks once the contractors are on-site, unless there are any unexpected delays.
We know how much Bob Korn Memorial Swimming Pool means to the community and we want it repaired as much as you do. Cordova Parks and Recreation will continue to provide updates to the community as more information is available.
The reopening date depends on the progress of the project and any extra repairs required.
Important dates:
- The pool will close for swimming at 6 pm on Saturday, August 3.
- Paws in the Pool event from 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday, August 4.
- Prep work for RenoSys contractors begins on Monday, August 5.
- Tentative project start date on Monday, August 19.
