PUBLIC NOTICE
City of Cordova reports a diesel fuel spill Friday morning (6/23) at the Eyak Water Treatment Plant.
The Fire Department is on scene and fuel is no longer leaking. Cleanup efforts are underway and boom is deployed to contain any impacts to Eyak Lake.
DEC has been notified and City will follow their guidelines to mitigate any environmental damage.
City reassures the public that it is not using Eyak Lake water at this time and the leak will in no way impact City water quality.
