Election Information

Municipal Elections are scheduled for March of each year. In general, the designated polling place is Community Room A in the Cordova Center. Information regarding the next regularly scheduled election becomes available in December.

Registered voters may also participate in State and National elections at Cordova polling locations; information is publicized as it becomes available. Federal/State Primary Election Tuesday August 20, 2024. Federal/State General Election Tuesday November 5, 2024. Youth “I Voted” Sticker Contest!

Congratulations Gregorio Landaluce in 3rd grade who created the Eyak design and 4th grader Rory Ensweiler who created Moose in the Mountains!

Students third grade through sixth grade created their own design to be put onto the City’s local election voting stickers. The winning design will be used for the upcoming local election March 4th. Designs must incorporate the words “I Voted“.  Design themes/subjects are open but ideas reflecting pride of local government, Cordova, or Alaska are encouraged.  Submission forms can be downloaded here and are due by January 31st, 2025 and can be turned in at City Hall, or emailed to cgilmour@cityofcordova.net. The top designs will be brought in front of City Council to be voted on for a winner.
