Boat Harbor & Moorage

With the most recent renovation, Cordova’s small boat harbor has a capacity of 727 vessels, making it one of Alaska’s largest single-basin harbors.  Slips range in size from 24’ to 70’. Seaplane moorage is also available.

Amenities include two tidal grids: one 160’ light duty grid and one 180’ heavy duty grid; and two launch ramps. Bilge water collection and sewage holding tank pumpout are also available. Electricity, phones, cable, telephone, and potable water are available, as well as fuel from Shoreside Petroleum at their commercial fueling dock.

The harbor is staffed seven days a week, 8am – 5pm; office staff stand by on VHF 16 and switch to VHF 68 as a working channel.

Visiting (transient) boaters are asked to check in at the harbor office as soon as they get their vessel tied up. Visitors will need to complete a registration form and pay any necessary fees upon arrival.

Dock Facilities

The Port includes three large docks.

The Municipal Dock is Cordova’s main commercial facility, adjacent to the Alaska Marine Highway dock. The dock’s outside face is 408’ with an average depth of 25’.

The City Dock, 300’ long, is located just outside of the entrance to the small boat harbor. This dock is used primarily for the transfer of light freight and fishing gear.

The T-Dock is used for the moorage of the U.S.C.G. buoytender SYCAMORE, home-ported in Cordova.

Harbor Parking Permits

Annual harbor area parking permits are available, at no charge, to all persons assigned an annual slip in the harbor. A parking permit allows you to park free in available parking spaces – it does not reserve a parking space for your vehicle(s). Permits are available at the Harbormaster’s Office. The slipholder’s harbor account must be current in order to qualify.

Slipholders with vessels up to and including 40′ are eligible for one free parking permit; slipsholders with larger vessels are eligible for two. Additional or replacement permits may be purchased for $20 at the Harbor office.

Note that recreational vehicles, vehicles over 24′ in length, and/or trailers are not allowed in the harbor-designated parking areas.
